A-1-6 > GC-44: Irving "Irv" Carter (OH) in basecamp
A-1-6 > GC-32: Irvin "Irv" Carter (OH) - Note from Wendover: Irv Carter was another that was infused to 1st Plt. early before Lo Giang. The CIB orders on the site shows others than the original bunch from Ft. Hood being awarded the Combat Infantey Badge because they earned the award as a Gunfighter at the same as the rest of us.
A-1-6 > TJW16: 1st Platoon guys Billy Sandlin (KY), Joseph Bruggeman (NY), John Hacker (CA), Irv Carter (OH), Tony Cordia (CA), and Francis "The Stud" Conlon (MA), in basecamp.
A-1-6 > BW-01: Irving Carter (OH), a replacement, came to Co. A soon after Lo Giang(1). He was one of the relatively few to receive three Purple Hearts. His brother Al told Alan Allen, also of 1st Platoon, that Irv died 11/11/00. Carter loved motorcycles, had an old Indian, and sometimes said he wanted to join the Oakland (CA) Chapter of The Hell's Angels. Note the cigar--we'd likely just been resupplied, and there's also a lot of cut-brush laying around, as if we'd cleared a helipad for the resupply chopper. Carter's fatigues look clean and fresh, and he looks like he's had a bath recently--or maybe we just made the boonies.
A-1-6 > WC-9 Irving Carter (OH) and Jerry 'Short Round' Baynes (GA), of 1st Platoon, pitch their poncho tent in the boonies
