Ld when we were short personnel (far too often). Met this Canadian at our Buffalo reunion He has some great stories that span more than most of our one year tours. In the middle is Co. A 1st Sgt. A-1-6 > GC-78: Left ?, in center with back to camera may be "Red" from Maryland); on right, Capt. Francis X. Brennan (Mass.) in the bush - this was late August early September - last action of the original Gunfighters. On a ridgeline in a running firefight - ended up at a little OP (single squad of infantry and mortar team and choppered out. Please check a photo of "Red" in Buddy Meyer's photos--he's leaning against a bunker doorway and facing the camera.
A-1-6 > GC-74: Command group with CPT Francis X. Brennan (Mass.) in center. Appears to be Claude Bartley on left top of rock. Also looks like Linwood Thacker, cigarette in mouth. Thacker was 1st Plt RTO then Co. RTO (note radio antenna jutting from pack behind him). Fred Shinbur thinks it's Pat Walker with back to camera. Put mouse over photo and select Original from the drop down box to zoom in and see others - please help with names.
