Alan Allen's DD-214 (discharge papers), even after he was medically retired from the Army for combat wounds, did not have even close to an accurate record of his service. His DD-214 did not list his third Purple Heart, his Silver Star, or the Valorous Unit Award earned by members of Company A for actions in and around the ville of Lo Giang(1) during Tet, February, 1968. If your DD-214 is not up-to-date, please make sure it is. (See DD-215.)
