Joe Gamache (RI) in dress greens at Fort Hood, TX,<br />
when he was in the 1/46th Infantry, 1st Armored<br />
('Old Ironsides') Division, for Basic. Gamache shipped<br />
over with us on the USNS Upshur as a cook. During the<br />
height of the fighting around Tet 1968, he was sent north<br />
to the Da Nang area.
