LM46: – This is 3rd Platoon or what’s left of it. We were just ‘falling in’ when this jeep pulled up from Alpha Company Headquarters out of LZ Bayonet. The lieutenant, clerk and driver were looking for me (Lou Miller). The Lt. said I was wanted back at 1/6 Battalion Headquarters and they were looking for me for over a month (like they didn’t know where I was) but the Lt. didn’t know why. The Lt. sat me in the jeep and sent the clerk for my rifle and pack. This was the last time I saw the platoon together. We just drove away to LZ Bayonet. I thought I would be coming back, but I wouldn’t.
