LM14b: Some more of the 3rd platoon playing cards. After I (Lou Miller) took this picture I went back to my position at the front of the platoon. I strung up my poncho liner to block the sun. My RTO, Tony Perez (WIA) and I were sitting down playing cards with Tony’s back to my poncho liner, he was facing me. The weapons platoon (about a click away) were fired at with an AK-47 on full auto. By the time we heard it, my poncho liner jumped, and one of those rounds hit Tony in the back of his head. He fell forward into my lap. He then sat back up rubbing his head. I reached behind him and picked up the bullet. Tony wore that bullet around his neck for good luck from then on. He needed it!
