James Edward "Bogie" Boggess was as big as, but even nicer than, "Hoss" Cartwright on Bonanza. At 22 he was killed by "friendly fire" in the Quang Tin area, right after Christmas, 29 Dec 68. He was a single guy from Lewiston, ID, and came to Co. A not long after the ambush at Lo Giang(1).
