BW_New_9-1: This Lt.Rick ? - "Tricky Ricky" came into the Bn. as a L.O. between the 1/6th and the 198 th.late summer 1968. Since he had a rear area assignment early he must have gone to a field position in early 1969. Anyone remember ? As an addtional comment, Bill Wendover remembered that this pic. was taken the day a bunch of us were leaving Chu Lai to go home. Some of us rode to the airfield in Tricky Ricky's Jeep. on January 18, 2014Welcome home Franks, "Tricky Rickty! Glad to close the circle. I should of told you to avoid Max at the poker table. Had $ 3,000 in poker winnings at Cam Ran Bay with no proof of where it came from. Max being my Bn XO signed the paper allowing me to take it out of Nam.

on January 14, 2014The Lt.'s last name is Franks. I was infused to the 1/6 from 3/1, 11th LIB in March of 1968, having arrived in country 12/21/67 in Duc Pho. I was the Bn Liason Officer to the 198th. The jeep was actually assigned to Major Beasley who never approved of my use of it. But what the hell, it had my name on it! Nice to see some of the old pictures. I may have a few in some old boxes. I'll try to dig them up!
